We grew up around football. Our dad, Noel Dean, is a lifelong Michigan high school football coach, so we were raised on the sidelines. Friday night lights, packed stands, and entire towns showing up to support their team were just a normal part of life for us.

Some of our favorite memories came every fall when the playoffs rolled around. We'd spread out a giant map and trace the bracket across the state with our dad. We'd talk through potential matchups, debate how the regions might shake out, and try to predict which teams would make a run. It became a tradition we looked forward to every year.

Eventually, we had the opportunity to play for him ourselves. When our playing days ended, we still wanted a way to stay connected to the game we grew up loving. Those nights spent cheering for his teams, studying playoff scenarios, and trying to predict who would qualify became the foundation for what would eventually become Goosepoop.

The first step was the Playoff Wizard. What started as a tool built to recreate the conversations we had around the kitchen table quickly grew into something bigger. One feature led to another, more people started using it, and over time it evolved into the site you're looking at today.

The name Goosepoop comes from Kanon. Our dad started calling him "Goose" when he was a little kid and it just stuck. We threw "poop" on the end because it works, and people remember it. Naming the site after the nickname our dad gave him only made sense, since our dad inspired our love for football.

Doak is the design side of things. The graphics, the podcast editing, the newsletters, the look and feel of everything we put out.

Goose is the numbers cruncher. The ratings model, the matchup analysis, the football brain behind what the data is actually telling us.
